“Each year, 42,773 Americans die by suicide”, afsp writes on their website.  It’s one of the highest in death rates. There are many reasons for suicide, such as disappointment, failure, rejection, loss, and more.  A loss, rejection, etc, can mean little to another person. Everyone has experienced anxiety, sadness or depression. I have too.Though I believe that life is so much more valuable than you think. Think about all the people who will be hurt because of your death and think about how you won’t ever get to experience the great things in the future. I know people would say that suicide is the easy way out and you don’t have to deal with the upcoming problems in life. However, problems are short term, but death? It’s a permanent problem.

Life can be difficult and hard at points, and that’s understandable, but life is made to be challenging. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The life that is given to you is precious and shouldn’t be wasted.  All the beautiful things you have experienced are the good parts of life that you will never see again once you’re gone. Yes, there are always going to be times when you have to deal with some sort of dilemma. Are you going to risk your life because of these problems? If you kill yourself, you wouldn't get to experience your upcoming future, like the day you get accepted into your dream college, or the day you get married to the love of your life. You wouldn’t be able to go through all the good things that await for you in the future.

If you commit suicide, your family, your friends, your boyfriend/girlfriend, the people who knew you, even the people who didn’t know you, will be hurt from the impact that you left them with. I know this because I have experienced it before. I have never talked to the person who committed suicide, but their death still had an impact on me. My brother had known this person well, and he was so affected by the death that it had affected me too. Your loved ones will be confused to why you killed yourself and they will blame themselves for not helping you out when it was the most essential. They will feel guilty and ask themselves why they couldn’t do anything about it.  You hurt them by creating a mark on their lives, and then leaving. They will feel guilty to why they couldn’t save you when they could or even angry. The worst part is that they know that you left the world, sad.

Some people may agree that suicide is a good thing because sometimes people’s depression simply cannot be overcome. All the bad problems or the wrong decisions are all forgotten because there’s nothing else you would have to deal with anymore.  There are times where I sometimes have thought about suicide. How maybe if I killed myself, I wouldn’t have to suffer through all the consequences. But I know that, death is permanent, and I wouldn’t be able to see the people who make me happy or the things that make me smile. Know that your problems are temporary and that they will be resolved somehow. Suicide is definitely not an answer to your problems.

Suicide comes from pain that you can fix if you just think positive and look at the bright side of things. I know that life sometimes gets so hard to withstand, but I know that you can get through it.  If you feel suicidal please, talk to someone and tell them about the problems that are bothering you. It helps to know that someone is listening and someone understands. Don’t solve your problems by ending your life.

This is my personal persuasive about teen suicide. It means a lot to me that suicide has such a high rate of death.
